Lessons
-
Our school offers lessons in voice, piano, guitar, bass, LOOG guitar, drums, trumpet, violin and cello. We also provide instruction in other instruments upon request.
-
-
We teach students of all ages, from young children to adults. We offer specialized programs tailored for different age groups and skill levels.
-
-
We usually find that age six is a good time to start taking lessons however it really depends on the child, as some kids are able to sit and focus on a lesson at a younger age. A trial lesson is a great way to discover if your child is ready.
-
We also teach LOOG guitar to kids 4 or 5 years of age as a three string guitar is an accessible way to start learning an instrument. See details about our LOOG class on our group classes page.
-
-
Our lessons are designed for all experience levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced. We customize each lesson to fit the student's unique needs and goals.
-
-
It's ideal to have your own instrument for practice at home however you can also rent an instrument. We'd be happy to advise you about where to do this. We may also have an instrument available for short-term loan, however this is not always possible.

Lessons are typically 30 to 45 minutes long depending on the students age, experience level and preference.
-
-
Yes, we offer trial lessons so students can meet an instructor and experience a lesson before committing.

We do our best to match our students with a teacher that will work for them. Please take a look at our Teacher page to learn more about each of our teachers. We can also help you select a teacher that will best meet your needs and preferences, please give us a call!

Yes, we host regular recitals and community events where students can showcase their skills if they choose to participate. It is advised to participate in the recitals however they are optional.

Practice is strongly encouraged between lessons to help reinforce skills and to see progress being made. Our teachers guide each student on what to practice each week.

Billing
-
Students are billed monthly, on the first of the month, for their next four lessons. Some months may have three or five lessons, but we charge in groups of four lessons to keep payments uniform. For example, depending on your lesson day, a payment may include lessons scheduled for the current month, as well as lessons scheduled occurring in the next month. Your September bill will be for your first four lessons, plus the annual registration fee.
-
Payments are made to the school via credit card and include a 3.3% surcharge, which is passed on to the payment processor. The registration fee is valid through the school year and covers expenses generated through student placement, scheduling and enrollment, recitals and any necessary teaching materials.

Cancellation Policy
-
When you enroll for a lesson day and time, you are expected to fulfill the schedule throughout the year (if your student decides to stop lessons, the credits for the remainder of the month are non-refundable).
-
Lessons must be canceled with at least 48 hours notice, or else the lesson cannot be made up.
-
There is a limit of four lessons that can be made up per year (whether through early or late notice). Any number of lessons above this limit will result in lost lesson credits.
-
If a lesson is canceled with at least 48 hours notice, we will issue a makeup credit for a makeup lesson to be scheduled at a different time. Makeup credits may not be applied toward a student's future regularly scheduled lesson time. Makeup credits are valid for one month and cannot accumulate. No additional makeup credits can be issued until the initial one is used.
-
No-shows and cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will result in a lost lesson. The lesson credit will be lost and your teacher will be paid for the lesson time.
-
In case of illness we will make an exception and issue a sick credit, which may be used for a makeup lesson at a different time. Sick credits may not be applied toward a student's future regularly scheduled lesson time. Sick credits are valid for one month and cannot accumulate. No additional sick credits can be issued until the initial one is used. There is an annual limit of two sick credits that can be issued.
-
We will do our best to set aside blocks of time for each teacher to reschedule lessons, and your lesson will be rescheduled to one of these times. It is our strong preference that a rescheduled lesson be with your current teacher. However, we reserve the right to reschedule with another teacher in cases where the current teacher is unavailable.
-
If the rescheduled lesson is missed, the lesson credit is lost. We will only ‘early-cancel’ lessons if the cancellation is due to the teacher’s unavailability or due to an unexpected school closure. All cancellations will be ‘Late Cancels’, with the issuance of a makeup credit (with 48 hours notice), sick credit (less than 48 hours due to illness) or lost lesson (a no-show or less than 48 hours notice).
-
In the event that there is a long-term need to reschedule your lesson time (such as a seasonal sport, school musical or other activity), you must let us know a month ahead of time so we can work with you to determine a new regularly scheduled day and time.
-
In the event that you need to pause regular lessons for an extended period of time due to a scheduling conflict or other condition, it is recommended that notification occurs before the next billing month (as defined above) to avoid unnecessary charges to your account. We will work with you to restart lessons when your schedule permits, but cannot guarantee your previous time slot.
-
There is a limit of four lessons that can be made up per year (whether through early or late notice). Any number of lessons above this limit will result in lost lesson credits.
